As social media continues to drive our new world, the way businesses have advertised has changed dramatically. In place of newspaper and radio ads are businesses broadcasting themselves on Facebook and Instagram. This is new territory for many businesses, and if you don’t quite know where to start, we have a few tips that can help.
- Develop your brand voice. This starts with understanding who your customers really are: why they’ve chosen your business, what they enjoy, what they hate, how they talk, and how they think. Using this information, you can create your brand voice. Think about the type of language you’ll use, the terminology, and the overall tone or spirit of your brand.
- Look at the competition. If you’re unsure of what direction to take for your social media, look at other successful businesses in your market and see what they’re doing on social media. We’re not telling you to steal their strategies, but it won’t hurt to take what they’re doing well and apply some of it to your social media.
- Plan a consistent posting schedule. For you to make your mark on social platforms, you must post frequently. We know that you have so many other responsibilities in business, but if you plan a schedule and stick to it, your social media will grow immensely over time.
